Continued from Healing Eczema on Raw Foods - Part II

For a clean diet which supports the body at its optimal level, what we eliminate from the diet is equally, (sometimes even more important!) than what we add in.

1) Filtered Water
In Part I, we talked about proper hydration on clean filtered water. Water is required to facilitate the body in its normal metabolic functions and natural ability to cleanse and heal. When we do not filter the water we drink, our body becomes the filter! So if you do not want your kidneys to have the extra burden of filtering unwanted toxic substances, install a water filter today.

Anyone I know who has a habit of drinking clean filtered water can tell the difference between tap water, cooked tap water (which is worse than tap water) and bottled water from good pure filtered water. Again, this the Vital Law of Accommodation which means that the body literally learns to survive with any unfavorable situation it is thrown into.

However, as the body builds coping mechanisms, diseases are also build.

Endo-toxins are toxins produced from the normal metabolic processes like walking, breathing, talking and even sleeping. Millions of chemical processes are carried out by the body every second just to keep us alive! And all these processes give out by-products which need to be eliminated. On top of this, we need to deal with Exo-toxins, which are external toxins from air pollution, unclean food and diet, EMF radiation etc. In order to allow our body to regain its natural ability to cleanse itself and heal, we need to facilitate it with the cleanest possible diet and water.

In the case of Eczema, which could really be a sign of a deeper problem of liver toxicity, it is even more important to drink only clean filtered water.

2) Eliminate the 3 Whites:

White Sugar, White Flour and Table Salt.

Both processed white sugar and white flour are denatured foods which are high-calorie but nutrient-deficient. White sugar causes insulin spikes in sugar levels which results in the eater crashing to a low (after the sugar high runs out) and craving more sugar. Diabetes patients have been advised by doctors to avoid processed sugar and cooked flour products like cakes, pastries and pies.

How many of you actually knows how and what are the packets of cheap table salt out there made of? Table salt is actually an industrial by-product which is toxic to the body. Eating daily in small amounts may not be deadly enough to kill us instantly, but it is indeed an extra burden on the body’s cleansing system to get rid of it.

Although sodium is part of our mineral needs, it is only required in very small amounts, and it can be easily met by eating organic celery stems and a little bit of sea salt.

There are many more health problems associated with excess sodium rather than sodium deficiency today.

In Eczema, as with most diseases, we want to relieve the body as much burden as possible from unclean foods and water, while equipping it well with the highest quality nutrients. We want it to rediscover and resume its natural ability to heal.

I remembered one of the first few conventional medical doctors I went to see for my Eczema turned his nose up strongly when I told him that nothing I used seemed to work - except for Dr Bonners’ Magic Oils. These natural bathing oils are used for shampooing, bathing or soaking (they are easily available from organic or natural stores).

When conventional medical creams fail to relieve the itch, I rubbed Dr Bonner’s Peppermint oils on the itch and miraculously it helped to relieve some of the pain and swelling (though not permanent, but it was good enough when you are awake in agony at 3am!!) The doctor laughed and told me that there is no need to spend on such “natural” and “organic” products, they are a waste of money, waste of time, and mostly do not work. He re-emphasized that Eczema is “non-curable”, and told me I better be mentally prepared that I have to live with this for the long term.

While I respect all practitioners, doctors and professionals in the medical industry (both TCM and Conventional), I remembered it is more important to listen to myself.

No matter what others say, ultimately, I asked myself what really works. If I had not listened to my heart, I could still be suffering from this unnecessary torture of Eczema.

And so I want to encourage everyone who is reading this right now -
You can seek all the advice, medical help and consultation you want. But at the end of it all, always try it for yourself and then make a decision. Our body never lies; the key is to watch out for the signs and be in touch with yourself.

While it may be confusing to see so many different types of medical advice and theories in our world today, the good news is that - Eczema is definitely curable. I have done it and so can you! :)

I had eczema before and was advised by a TCM doctor to use organic apple vinegar to rub on the skin to ease the itch. It works and helps in the recovery.
