Swine Flu Protection
4:57 am - April 30, 2009 | Posted By Linda in Green Smoothies, Other Health RelatedSwine flu? What is this madness around us! The World Health Organization warned early this week that the outbreak could reach global pandemic levels. According to the Organic Consumers Association, the flu is suspected to spread from a Virginia based pig-rearing farm known as Smithfield Foods (world’s largest pig producer) operating in Mexico.
Due to massive global population growth, industrialization, and ballooning of global consumption, farming measures have deteriorated because of profits maximization. We are now paying for the consequences of intensive confinement of farm animals, extreme antibiotics administration and unnatural breeding methods.
These strange strains of influenza have mutated from abuse of antibiotics and unclean farming measures, and since they originate from antibiotics in the first place, they are also immune to it. Which is why, we currently do not have a cure for it yet.
Is the solution to then re-invent, design and come up with yet other new types of anti-viral or stronger drugs to counter this? How long will it be before it catches up with us again, and then more people have to die and suffer the consequences, before the next “magic” drug is invented?
The good news is - besides getting worried and fearful, and being conditioned to wait until the arrival of the next synthetic drug to cure this, we can take charge of our own well-being anytime. We are not powerless.
Here are some simple steps which can be taken to enhance our immunity system:
1) Eliminate red meats from the diet, if this is not possible, cut back substantially.
2) Cut down on all processed foods. Consume at least 50% of your diet in fresh high-quality organic fruits, greens and vegetables everyday.
3) Drink a minimum of 8 large glasses of clean, filtered water everyday.
4) Buy a blender and make green smoothies at home with organic greens and fruits. Green smoothies cleans you out, supplies minerals & vitamins for good immunity, and is easily digested for people of any age.
5) Include a pro-biotic supplement, raw vegan cultured cheeses/yogurts, organic fermented foods like Sauerkraut or Kombucha tea to maintain a healthy bacteria count in the intestines.
6) Exercise! Walk, run, hike, swim, dance, just do anything which you enjoy and gives a good work-out.
7) Sleep enough. If you sleep late, try to either reverse that by sleeping earlier or making sure you get the snooze the next day. The more processed foods and cooked meats we eat, the more rest is required for the body to re-generate and heal.
Eliminate or cut down synthetic drugs consumption - these drugs destroys flora intestinal flora which are required for a healthy digestive tract.
Remember that the human body is a magnificent creation which is capable of healing itself. It is time to stop hoping that somebody else will be more concerned about our health than ourselves. Join me today to resume responsibility for your own well-being right now!

Hi All,
Of all the supplements I have tried over the last 20 plus years to boost my immune system “Brazilian Green Propolis” (not to be taken by anyone who has asthma) wins hands down.
It’s so powerful that it’s currently used to boost the immune systems of AIDS patients.
The best is by Uniflora Health Foods. Name of product: Bee Propolis Extract Strong Type - 55% Propolis. It’s alcohol based because alcohol based is better than water based for quicker absorption. It cost $53.00 It’s available from the bee products outlet next to Cold Storage in the basement of Takashimaya.
I have tried a Japanese water extracted powder version but it did not work for me.
Maintenance dose (once a week then once a month) 5 drops in food. If you feel flu symptoms coming on I have taken 10 drops 3 x a day until all cold and flu symptoms are completely gone.
When I had microplasma symptoms I took 10 drops 3 x a day and I completely recovered in 2 weeks.
Currently I only take it when I feel flu symptoms coming on.
If you try to mix it in water it will stick to the sides of the glass. If you try to take in by spoon or on your tongue it will stick to your teeth. To obtain maximum benefit put in in your food. It’s a resin that is why it’s sticky.
Take no drugs search for natural alternatives

Hands down, the best defense against any illness is a healthy immune system. I’ve been fairly resistant to most cold and flu seasons, but I can tell that as my exercise and healthy eating habits have slackened in the last couple of years, so has my immune defense.
Lately, I’ve taken to introducing more veggies into my carnivore diet, and enjoying more “live” foods. Nature always has the best medicines, they’re time-tested, mother (nature) approved.

A healthy immune system has kept me drug free since birth, age 56 now and have not taken any allopathic drugs since my teens and then only a couple of times. A nutrionally well balanced diet, exercise and positive attitude to promote personal well being. Have been Vegan for 20 years, before that veggie for 8 years. An now 100 % Raw Vegan.
