Which “Raw Institution” Do You Belong To?
2:04 am - April 21, 2010 | Posted By Linda in Linda's Daily Stuff, Spiritual Health and ConsciousnessI had the good blessing to meet with 2 fellow 100% Raw Vegans, both foreigners, today and we had an awesome time connecting. We made music, laughter and polished one another’s “light bulbs” so we can shine even brighter afterwards.
Every body on earth is a “light bulb” in some way or other. It is important to polish it often, and surround yourself with people who helps you to polish it instead of cover it in more mud.
It was so awesome to savor wonderful tropical fruits together, share the love for Earth, and laugh heartily!

The interesting thing is that - we all believed in different Raw Food “Institutions”. Although we all eat a fully raw vegan diet, all 3 of us have different variations. One is a 100% strict fruitarian, another eats only low fat raw fruits and greens (80/10/10) and no Cacao, while me - thrives on a low fat fruits/greens/vegetables, a little gourmet sometimes, and Raw Cacao!
You see, the difference between us lies only in the variations of raw food principles we each believe works best. For the fruitarian, he is able to harness the goodness and nutrients of raw fruits fully, so much so that he does not need any other foods to supplement his diet. The other one who does not thrive on Cacao just simply have no chemistry with chocolate. And I, am at the stage where I recognize that there is truth to all these variations, and that each variation best suits that individual.
Raw vegans, after some time, become awakened to their own body enough to tell what is needed, what is supportive and what is not. This applies to foods first, then emotions and energies.
The point I am trying to reiterate is this - raw vegan foods is no doubt the most natural source of nutrition for humans. But everybody comes from a different background, they have done different things to their body. Some transition faster, some slower, some never. It is alright, no matter how slowly, as long as you are moving.
Depending on the state your body is at, you may thrive on different foods. And we all agree that everybody is different. There is no right or wrong stages of transition; they are simply different stages. Just apply that which is required at the relevant stage.
There are so many confusing disciplines of Raw Foods information out there, that it can be pretty confusing at times for the beginner. I had been through that too, a few years back; but thank Divine I came out of it quick enough.
There are at least more than 6 different “Disciplines” of Raw Foods out there, and some of them are against one another. They even attack each other outright on forums and discussion boards. I feel sad when I see that because it is such a pity.
The number of people who awakened to the goodness of raw foods, and found that there is something deeper within, are already not many. For those who have the guts and courage to follow their heart, even lesser.
And those who have the determination and calm to carry on this worldly life in the raw vegan way, only a handful I would say.
Such a rare species of beautiful and precious people. Imagine the kind of love and energy that can be generated if they can unite. They are all simply Divine’s first troops of Spiritual Warriors dedicated to helping Earthians transcend to a better life in the least painful and comfortable way.
Shouldn’t they come together and celebrate life, enhance each other’s energies and build bigger value to mankind even more? The amount of love and joy that can be created from this would be incredible.
This is the reason why I think it is a pity.
Forget about how many percent raw, what kind of raw foods do you subscribe to and so on… I have loved ones and friends who are hard core meat eaters; I love them all the same. Although I recognize that I am different from them, but as Divine planned, we are all different in our own ways. We are here to help those who require our skills and capabilities, and to love those with whom we are blessed to interact with.
These various disciplines of raw foods have thrown many awakened people off pursuing eating raw foods for health. Even when they can feel the magic happens, they are thrown off because the confusion plus social disharmony proves too much to bear. I know, because I had been there.
But I quickly realized that these are simply man-made. Just like religions - which are man-made structures. I truly respect the wisdom within each religion, and I draw a lot of inspirations from various religious books. But I am aware that some of the practices and traditions are man-made. However, Divine is God-made.
There can be many religions, all leading to only one Divine. Just like raw foods - which are Divine-made. Man can make a religious practice but we cannot make Divine. All religions are driving disciples towards Divine, and there is only one Divine.
Man can make hamburgers, sandwhiches, noodles and flour cookies; but we cannot “make” an avocado, an apple or a tree without Divine’s resources - sunlight, water and earth.
The whole point of this article is to urge you to be firm in your own belief be it pure fruitarian, 80/10/10, etc as long as you listen to your own body’s calling. Countless people have attested to feeling more alive after some time on living foods and knowing what foods suit them best; just listen to it.
Raw vegans are normal people with likes and dislikes. Non-raw vegans also have individual tastes, likes and dislikes. Some may prefer certain dishes over others. It is the same with raw vegans! Raw foods make us stronger, younger, fitter, but not raw foods won’t make us into clones!
In other words, we still pretty much share the same biological and physiological structure as before, except that we operate at higher efficiency, rejuvenation and recovery compared to the past.
So how can we expect one standard approach for all people, especially those transitioning into a living diet.
The idea is to understand what these individual disciplines are saying, be aware and observe what is driving these remarks, comments, what are the intentions, and most importantly test it on yourself to see how you resonate with it. If it serves you in your growth, apply it. If it doesn’t, discard and move on!
They are not meant to discourage you from pursuing a healthier life, fulfillment and empowerment. When raw foods information throws you off, they have fully defeated the purpose. The primary reason of raw living foods is to awaken yourself, live life to the maximum, stay awake and help others wake up too.
So let’s use it intelligently for its purpose!
Light Love Laughter
