The Intricate Link Between You and Nature

Whenever I feel down, tired or simply “out-of-sync”, I have the habit of running to the nearest park, take off my shoes and stand bare footed on the grass with my bare hands against a tree. Almost immediately, I’d start to feel better.

How did I stumbled onto this unusual hobby? After about 3 months into raw foods, I started to notice that every time I ran at parks, there is a strong desire to touch a tree and the grass. The feeling slowly grew to wanting to sit down in contact with the ground, and eventually now - I want to simply lay my whole body on the ground for a few minutes!

Every time I did this, I feel a sense of joy and calmness from deep within. And then, no matter how mad a day I’ve had, how many brain cells were destroyed due to excess EMF radiation from cell-phone usage, I’ll start to smile for no reason. I can literally feel the tiredness and fatigue drain out of me, and incoming energy from the ground and tree!

There is, without doubt, healing energy from Mother Nature! Remember how our Grand-mothers used to tell us that the air from the forests and grounds are different, and that they can heal sicknesses? There is more truth to it then we thought there was!

When we connect with Nature, our body’s internal clock (called the circadian clock) is regulated and balanced. Every human body vibrates at a certain frequency. This frequency is in sync with the energy from Mother Earth, as well as raw and living foods that has not been cooked or processed.

Our body checks for surrounding signals frequently to tune in to our natural energy, and by maximizing our exposure to nature, we help to balance our body’s natural vibration to its original state. Eating a clean diet as close to nature as possible also helps to achieve this.

If this is new to you, give it a try! Simply take off your shoes and socks, and stand on the ground in a park for an un-interrupted 10 mins. You will feel more energetic and refreshed after wards!

Some tips when you connect with Mother Earth:

1) Find a spot beside a tree with a canopy for a shade.
2) Make sure you check the tree for any ants or threatening insects.
3) Look carefully on the ground to make sure you are not stepping on any ants, worms or other insects. Choose a spot which is free of crawling insects where you can stand.
4) Take off your shoes and socks, stand barefooted, with both feet placed firmly on the ground.
5) Place both your palms on the trunk of the tree at a comfortable level, and relax for 10 mins. Look around you, enjoy the greenery, breathe deeply and appreciate the natural forest fragrance.
