What Do I Eat On A Typical Day - May 2010

More than a year ago, I wrote a similar post to share with readers what I normally eat on a typical day.

What I Eat On A Typical Day Aug 2008

Fast forward one and half years later, my typical food consumption has somewhat changed a bit. The one thing which remained constant, and in fact, increased, is my Green Smoothie consumption.

Back in 2008, when I was just more than 2 years on raw, Green Smoothies formed appr. 50% of my food intake.

And now Green Smoothies form almost 70%- 80% of what I eat daily, and I’m loving every drop of it!

This is actually a conservative estimate because, there were days when I could simply drink Green Smoothies whole day long and feel absolutely satisfied!

So, let’s take a look at what I have been eating nowadays:

Morning:
I make a gallon of Green Smoothie with 750g to 1kg of green leaves, together with whatever fruits I have available. The greens can consist of local leaves, herbs, and sometimes the imported ones like Kale. If you had been to any of our workshops before, you will know why it is better to eat local greens. If you don’t, please remember to ask me at your next workshop.

The fruits can consist of bananas, papayas, pineapples, melons, apples, mangoes - these are the more available ones. Sometimes I’ll have pears, peach, rambutans, longans and even Durians!

The 1 gallon is then split into at least 2 containers - depending on my schedule for the day. I then estimate the amount which I would like to have when outside, and keep that amount in a portable container to bring out later.

And do I actually finish the whole gallon in a day?

Yes I usually do!

If I work out that day (a typical swim of 10 laps, short sprint/walk 30 min - and these are in addition to my daily 1hour personal Yoga practice ) then I’ll have to prepare one more round of Green Smoothies in the evening!

You will be wondering how on Earth can a person consume more than 1 kg of greens in a day!

The fact is that, these Green Smoothies contain so much fiber that they really move through the gut like lightening, cleaning and pulling out toxins as they travel. And the awesome part is that it feeds the cells with simple vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, phytonutrients and chlorophyll.

The transition time for food to be eliminated from the body depends on individual people, and the rule of thumb is that the shorter the transition period, the shorter the time for fermentation and creation of toxins.

Green Smoothies move faster than any other foods because its alive, and blended to perfect particle size for absorption.

This is indeed the best food any man can consume - it feeds the being on all Body, Mind and Spirit basis.

If I keep to consuming only Green Smoothies and some fruits, my transition time can be as short as 8 hours! On a typical day, my bowels move smoothly 2 - 3 times, or whenever I have a meal.

Mid Morning:

More Green Smoothies (drinking from the 1 gallon supply I made in the morning) and my super power Raw Cacao Ice-Cream!

Lunch/Tea (usually outside)

More Green Smoothies, and fresh fruit. Besides bringing out Green Smoothies, I also pack seasonal fruit to bring out - usually bananas, apples, tamarinds, guavas and other fruits which are easy to eat on the run.

My digestion rate is so high that bringing fruits is necessary to avoid running low on energy.

Dinner

Now, depending on what I did that day, I may finish the rest of the Green Smoothie, and even make another smaller one, and have that with fresh fruit.

Supper

2 hours after dinner, I normally get hungry again. Sometimes when I’m not teaching or writing (yes using the brain uses calories!), I’ll grab 1 or 2 pieces of fruit before going to bed. Otherwise, I’ll make a small salad, and dress it with some raw fats - half an avocado, virgin coconut oil or soaked seeds. On certain days I also have my special Flax Seeds porridge.

Ahh…and then sweet nice sleep! :)

    Hi Linda,
Thanks for sharing yr typical day diet.
I have been on GS since Mar’10 and begin to see all the goodness. I bring the GS to work in a Coleman cooler jug (usually used by sportman) and drink it through out the day. I am not totally raw yet and still eating SSD (Std SG Diet, coin from SAD, Std American Diet). Looking forward to your update in this blog. :)
