Raw Food Talk On National Day/What’s the Relation Between Raw Foods, Consciousness, and The Cancer Syndrome?

It was a beautiful day for me because it was National Day ( I love Singapore!), I had great company over for a lunch gathering, and then I found more local fellow rawbies while giving a raw food talk to VSS!

Life is good man ;)

It is so encouraging to see raw foodists springing up from corners in Singapore. And if I could say one thing to all of you, it will be:

“You were never alone, and will never be, because there is a whole global raw community with us! It is part of a massive human evolution moving towards consciousness - of which raw foods constitute the part on conscious eating.”

I believe that conscious living is the only way to reverse the harm done to our Earth, our eco-systems and ourselves.

Just for fun, I have an interesting thought to share with you today. Every time I run or hike in the parks, I’m immensely grateful for the trees framing the expressways.

Our trees are like our lungs. Without trees on earth, we can’t breath. Just like our own body which needs a pair of lungs, Earth needs trees.

The next question to ask is - why are we so anxious to clear green lands and make way for other more profitable industries? Will more money matter when we can’t breath anymore?

Just like how cancer cells multiply and destroy the body, the human population behaved similarly in recent decades.

A cancer cell starts to form when it becomes autonomous, gets cut off from the body, and “does its own stuff”. In other words, the cell functions without consideration of other fellow cells. Soon, it “corrupts” other cells and turn them cancerous. And then together, this cluster of cancerous cells continues to spread and attack its own host.

Just like human beings, they forgot that they need the host to survive. In ignorance, the cells attacked the body organs one by one until eventually destroying the host. And then of course, the cancer cells ceased to exist too!

This can also be related to eating without considering the effects of the food on your body, health and mind. Do you really know what is in the food you put inside your mouth every time you eat? Haven’t we all heard that cancer is usually caused by eating the wrong foods?

I find it amusing that we are behaving in exactly the same way! In our pursuit of certain things, we started to do things benefiting only ourselves, at the expense of others. By others, I mean our fellow human beings, our earth, our eco-systems etc. Have you ever thought that Earth is actually one organism, a group of systems which include the sea, the trees, the insects/animals and man?

Terrorism is one perfect example of the cancer syndrome. Because of one leader cancer cell, which multiplied into a terrorist cluster, massive damage was done to fellow mankind and our environment.

Sounds disturbing? No worries! Just like there are cancerous cells, we have got the fighter cells too. These are like warriors constantly working to protect our bodies from invasion and siege! And everyone can choose to be one.

We see activists pushing for global warming awareness, environmental protection, sustainable farming methods… They can come in the form of communities, associations, or simply enlightened individuals who live consciously. These are happening all over the world and to me, they are just like Earth’s fighter cells.

The good news is - Positivity, compassion and happiness spreads much easier than their opposites. Have you heard of people healing diseases with happiness and joy? It is never an uphill task to spread laughter, feed what you want to grow, and be the change you want to see!

For the fact that you are reading this, I know you are a warrior too. Just keep on your warrior work, find a warrior buddy, and continue to have fun :)

Let’s Embrace Earth With Pride!
