Top Blender Tips

For eg if you wish to make a standard Mango Orange Smoothie as well as a Durian or Raw Cacao Ice-Cream – work on the Mango Orange first, so that you only need to wash once.
The reason to make the stronger Smoothies/Ice-Cream after the lighter flavored one is to prevent the stronger taste from mixing into the lighter one. In this case, we don’t have to worry about the Durian/Raw Cacao taste over-powering everything else.
2) Wash the Blender immediately after every blend. The longer you leave the Smoothie in the Blender Jar, the deeper the stain and the harder it is to wash.
3) When blending frozen fruit chunks or ice-cubes, take out the frozen fruit and leave it in the open for 5 min to soften before blending. This way we can protect the blades and make them last longer.
4) To wash the undersides of the blades and little crevices along the bottom of the Blender Jar, buy those little washing brushes (available in Supermarkets) which you can stick into & reach those hardly visible corners.
5) After making Ice-Cream, Cheeses or Yogurt, you can make it easier to wash the Blender with this – after removing the Ice-Cream/Cheese that you are making, pour in some tap water and run the blades for 10 seconds on low speed. Then you can proceed to wash the Blender. This will loosen up stuck seed/nut particles at the undersides of the blades and make it easier to wash.
6) If you are embarking on a Living Foods Lifestyle, the Blender is one best friend that will serve you well. After each blend, put your hands on the Blender and say “Thank you, I love you!” I do this all the time and my Blendtec has worked beautifully for the past 3 years – and everyone knows that this little guy is operated super heavy duty because we run workshops every other weekend.
