The Yoga-Living Foods Transition

Ancient Yoga practices have been hailed and used by many people of all ages to achieve health, wellness as well as spiritual awakenings ranging from feelings of balance to self-enlightenment.

Indeed, practicing Yoga with all other lifestyle factors remaining constant, already have a wide variety of benefits. These benefits span from physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

So far, there are limited statistics/research are available to establish the co-relation between Living Foods and Yoga. Yes, there are individual modules of Food & Nutrition in all Yoga Studies where
Yoga Teacher study about the most suitable diets for Yoga practices enhancement.

Yogic Diets are in fact, very similar to Living Foods - minimal processing, wholesome vegan foods, no deep frying, microwaving and other unnatural cooking processes.

Raw Food = Common Sense

As the years progressed with my transformation on a raw foods lifestyle, I found the Science and logic behind Raw Foods to be so crystal clear and obvious. With the incorporation of Yoga especially, the connection with my own body becomes so close that I sense all physical, mental and emotional changes according to the quality of food substances I ingest.

The Oxford Dictionary defines food as “Any substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb to maintain life and growth”.

Fruit Overdose Vs Fruit Justice

There used to be a point in my life when I thought that eating too much fruit could be “harmful” to my body. Mainly because of 2 reasons - 1) I was afraid it may contribute to excess calories and thus weight gain, 2) I was afraid of malnutrition by missing out on other “important food groups like flesh foods, dairy/cooked grains etc”, and 3) I was afraid it may cause diabetes.

Let’s take a more scientific approach to things:

First of all, there are 3 concepts we are looking at here - the first is Overeating Calories, the second is Malnutrition, and the third is The Real Cause of Diabetes.

“How do you deal with the bacteria and germs?”

I have lost count of how many such questions which came up over the years. The first thing that came into peoples’ minds when they hear about eating raw, is to think of 100 reasons why it is impossible and not good. In fact, this is human nature. Every human mind has the same characteristic - it is our natural tendency to reject what is unknown and unfamiliar.

What we don’t know - we usually fear and resist.

How Do You Build Your House? - The Magic Of Raw Foods
