For the upteenth time, I’ve been asked “So you eat a 100% raw food diet? How many percent is raw; you mean purely 100%?”

And then depending on their backgrounds and beliefs, they look as me as if they are either watching a horror show, or an animal show in the zoo.

Reduction in Food Consumption - Good or Bad?!

Interestingly, the types and quantities of living foods I eat everyday has somewhat evolved over the past few years. There is one almost confirmed observation made from people on Green Smoothies, including myself - and that is our overall consumption of food reduces on days on which we are not physically active.

Because I lead a mostly active lifestyle, I actually experienced a substantial increase in food intake. Living foods as we all know, are dense in nutrients, but low on calories and huge in bulk! So in order to meet daily caloric requirements, I take in more food volume now.

Raw Food Evangelist?!

There was a time when I was staunchly insistently upon only eating living uncooked vegan foods, turning up my nose at every other cooked or processed stuffs. There were also times when I innocently told people over lunch that what they are eating is gonna kill them.

This was way back in 2006 when I first discovered the marvelous effects of Live Foods. Although this was a gesture arising out from a deep passion to share, because I care, but unfortunately the approach was totally off, and I ended up creating a lot tension, stress, and even displeasure both towards myself and the Science of Live Foods.

More than a year ago, I wrote a similar post to share with readers what I normally eat on a typical day.

What I Eat On A Typical Day Aug 2008

Fast forward one and half years later, my typical food consumption has somewhat changed a bit. The one thing which remained constant, and in fact, increased, is my Green Smoothie consumption.

Back in 2008, when I was just more than 2 years on raw, Green Smoothies formed appr. 50% of my food intake.
